Radar is doing great, thank you. 😉 We’ve been having our own ups and downs as we continue to adjust, but it’s just wonderful, overall. Yes, good riddance to the gnats!!! I thought Florida was the only place with the relentless no-see-ems (I even called the management at a Key West resort one time because I thought they had bed bugs when it was really the little biting flyers on the patio), but they’re here in full force during the month of June. We think that will be a good time to head south! ;P Really appreciate the follow, Justin!!

Good question about how bad weather affects comfortable outdoor living areas… The short answer is that we don’t see nearly the same amount of rain as folks in Florida. In fact, our annual avg. for rain is only 12 inches in the high mountain desert area! (Snow averages 30+ inches.) The long answer is that we cover up these areas with tarps when we see the clouds building, and we’re still working construction plans for more substantial outbuildings to house things through the winter. Once we have the stove and water tanks operational in the coming days, we’ll definitely be moving some of the kitchen activity indoors. 😉

Love the updates and find it all quite fascinating. Living vicariously though you both! One question that keeps coming to mind, as I watch your process of setting up outdoor living spaces. What in the world do you do about rain? The workshop and outdoor kitchen, etc.??
